Solution to Puzzle 49.  CHEST OF GOLD

Solution:

Since the chest that is labeled as MIXTURE is intentionally mislabeled, it is either a chest of with 2 bags of gold coins or a chest of with 2 bags of silver coins.  So, as the knight, you open one bag from this chest.  The type of coins in this bag determines the type of coins in the other bag.   If this bag contains gold coins, this is the chest to bring home.

If this bag contains silver coins, then this chest contains all silver coins.  Since, the box that was mislabeled ALL GOLD cannot contain gold coins on both bags, the box mislabeled ALL SILVER must contain gold coins on both bags.
