The word game
DOUBLET was invented by Lewis
Carroll, author of Alice in Wonderland. The object of the game is to change a word into another word by successively changing only
one letter at the time to form an intermediate valid word. For example, the
following process changes the word HAT to VAN:
Through zeal knowledge is gotten, through lack of zeal
knowledge is lost; let a man who knows this double path of gain and loss
guide himself so that knowledge may grow.
