EUCLID

Euclid of Alexandria was a Greek mathematician who lived from about 365-300 B.C.   Although little is known about his early life, it is generally believed that he studied under the students of Plato.  He later established a school of mathematics and taught at the library in Alexandria.  His most prominent written work is The Elements which is a collection of 13 books on Geometry.  This treatise contains 465 propositions, and dealt with several aspects of plane and solid geometry.  It was one of the most important recorded mathematical work in the history of mathematics.
